The next step

Welcome to the one-week HDV masterclass covering 5 days of shooting and editing using the latest HDV cameras from Sony JVC and Canon.

Final Cut Pro will be the editing software using the iMAC platform from Apple. Students will have their own workstation using 20 inch widescreen monitors.

HDV Masterclass Training Courses

Working as part of a crew you will direct and shoot your own three minute programme on location and in the studio.

Learn about Lighting for HDV, the principles for three point lighting. There is also a practical opportunity for everyone on the course to light a TV studio interview.

Shooting for the edit explains how to shoot sequences that will edit together.

Production Principles includes ‘crossing the line’ shot sequencing, shot sizes. This is followed with practical exercises.

Production Planning includes typical script layouts. How to produce a production schedule. Call sheets. Production budgeting.

HDV Masterclass Training Courses

The Final Edit: Each student will edit his or her own three-minute programme under the supervision of a producer/editor.

A review of each three minute programme with a final question and answer session. This is followed by you receieving your diploma and a social-get-together at the local pub.
